Description

Neo-classical family home with Mansard roofs, typical of the 18th century
Construction of Malicorne castle began in the 12th century on the site of a swamp. On the border between Maine and Anjou, the role of this fortress was to guard the gates of Maine. From the Renaissance onwards, it became a popular meeting place for the great and good of the kingdom, such as the writer Madame de Sévigné. In a poor state of repair, the medieval château was rebuilt in the 18th century. This elegant residence is listed as a Historic Monument. RDV in front of the large entrance gate.
