A poetic journey in which spools and fabrics bring a decidedly modern Penelope to life.
Josy, aged 55, is a sailor’s wife. For years, she has watched her husband set sail with the tides, waiting for his return. Her days are punctuated by her work as a seamstress, her life as a mother and the anticipation of brief exchanges with her husband over the VHF radio. In her sewing workshop, whilst listening to a radio programme about Homer’s Odyssey, her reality is turned on its head and she is transported into a burlesque world.
Little by little, she weaves the threads of her imagination and questions the place of women in this epic.
Underlying it all, her own story emerges: she reflects on her circumstances, her desires, her fears and her life.
