It’s the final chance to explore the exhibition on travel in the Middle Ages, the various medieval maps and the replicas of navigational artefacts.

On foot, on horseback, by cart or by boat, merchants, pilgrims, soldiers, monks and troubadours travelled across a world they were beginning to understand thanks to maps and travellers’ accounts. On this tour, you’ll discover just how much the medieval legacy of travel still shapes our daily lives.

Immerse yourself in the marvellous world of medieval maps, discover the astonishing creatures they contain and set sail for new horizons.

Follow the guide and become ‘apprentice architectural archaeologists’ as you explore the 13th-century manor house and decipher the secrets of its stones during a walk around the grounds.
