The son of a factory worker, Lilian Derruau alias Wally gives an uncompromising account of his youth in a rural working class environment. An intimate story that takes us on a whirlwind of laughter and emotion!
In the 1970s, Wally grew up in Viviez, a working-class town in the Decazeville industrial area. The zinc factory where his father works provides the social life for the families who depend on it. The future seemed to be all mapped out... Now an artist, he takes a sincere look at his past, through tender and piquant anecdotes. A singer full of humour, Wally surprises us here in a more personal register. Juggling quotations from Pierre Bourdieu and music by Richard Clayderman, he manages to break down sociological barriers. Jérôme Rouger's staging is sober and uncluttered, leaving plenty of room for the poetry of the text and the mischievousness of the message. Wally offers us a life lesson, full of humanity, that invites us to reflect on the working class condition.
