Iron is not just a metal or a resource: it represents a society's ability to feed and defend itself. La Forge de l'Histoire offers a rare and spectacular way of showing visitors how iron was made in the Middle Ages. It reveals the secrets of this industry, which was the basis of many activities in the societies of the period. During the animation, a temporary furnace is built to transform ore into metal. At the same time, a blacksmith makes reproductions of medieval iron objects using a continuous forge.

    > The animation is directed by Charles Torres and Simon Pellequer, blacksmiths and metallurgists with degrees in archaeology who specialise in the reproduction of archaeological objects and historical animation.

    > The entrance ticket gives access to all the activities and to the Manoir de La Cour.
