Boucle vélo loisirs N°21

In the heart of the Sarthe Valley, this 25km cycle route invites you to take a gentle stroll through nature, heritage and expertise. Accessible to all, it combines 10 km of safe greenway (40% of the route) with quiet country roads, ideal for family cycling in complete peace of mind.

The route passes through Malicorne-sur-Sarthe, one of the world's leading centres for artistic earthenware. A stop at the Musée de la Faïence et de la Céramique (Earthenware and Ceramics Museum) will give you an insight into this renowned expertise, before you take a stroll along the Sarthe and visit the craftsmen. The Château de Malicorne is another reminder of the village's rich heritage. At the port and on the greenway (the old railway station), cycle service areas make it easy to take a break.

The loop then reaches Mézeray, ideal for a picnic with its shops, or for a gourmet break at the Domaine des Mésangères.

A diversion to the port of La Suze-sur-Sarthe offers a moment of relaxation by the water (cycle service area on site), before continuing on to Noyen-sur-Sarthe and its harbour master's office, where restaurants and water sports activities complete the experience.

Between river, villages of character and authentic encounters, this loop promises a rejuvenating break at the pace of cycling.

From April to September, lock-keepers are happy to share their daily routine at the Noyen-sur-Sarthe and Malicorne-sur-Sarthe locks.
