Since 1670, the recipe for the sablé – the famous pure-butter biscuit – has been passed down from generation to generation in Sablé-sur-Sarthe. A showcase for the cultural and gastronomic heritage of the Sarthe Valley, the iconic Biscuiterie La Sablésienne is a family-run, artisan bakery that carries on this time-honoured tradition thanks to the quality of its ingredients, skilfully crafted by its master bakers. In the heart of the Sarthe, La Sablésienne biscuit factory invites you to discover the history of the Petit Sablé, from Ancient Egypt to the present day, including its arrival at the French court with the Marquise de Sablé. At the end of this guided tour, you will watch a film about the history of La Sablésienne, followed by a tasting of our biscuits. You can also visit the shop to stock up at manufacturer’s prices. For hygiene reasons, pets are not permitted on our premises.
