From the car park, take the bridge over the canal. On the other bank, follow the path to the right that runs alongside the road. You will reach the confluence of the river and the canal, continue along the path straight ahead. You will reach the metal bridge, built in 1896 by the famous Ponts et Chaussées engineer Harel de la Noë. Before you go under the bridge, turn left and follow the D156 to the roundabout near the cemetery. Turn left into rue des Gesleries and take the first turning on the left into rue du Passeur. Continue as far as the church and follow the road back to the banks of the canal. Pick up the path again, leaving the bridge on your left, and continue straight on along the same bank for 2 km. Cross the bridge and take the towpath to the left on the other bank (or alternative: at this point, you can continue straight on along the Sarthe to reach the village of Roëzé (alternative 5 km) and then retrace your steps to continue the loop). You will come to a road, follow the grassy path between the road and the canal and continue straight on to the car park.
